A forward has been making its way around the internet. The forward says that Obama's birth certificate is a fake, because

it "shows that his father . . . was born in 'Kenya, East Africa' . . . . Kenya did not even exist until 1963, two whole years after Obama's birth . . . . it was known as the 'British East Africa Protectorate.' "

"the listed place of birth is 'Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital.' This cannot be . . . . The name [of the hospital] did not change to Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978."

Hmmm.

Recently, on an American street, the following scene occurred --

Gullible Citizen: Well, it looks like Obama released his birth certificate. I guess he actually is American.

(Suddenly a masked man wearing a mask and green tights with a large "F" on his chest appears)

GC: Oh look, it's Forward Man!

Forward Man: Hello there, gullible citi-- . . . uh, good fellow, here's a forward for you.

(FM sends GC a quick e-mail)

GC: Oh, my! Errors on the birth certificate! Forward Man, is this true?!?

FM: Would I ever make something up?

(There's a whooshing sound, and suddenly a man in a quite tasteful suit with "IAWYLWYDYOR" on the lapel appears.)

GC: Oh, look! It's It's-Amazing-What-You-Learn-When-You-Do-Your-Own-Research Man!

FM: Drat.

It's-Amazing-What-You-Learn-When-You-Do-Your-Own-Research Man: Hello there, gullible citizen.

GC: Oh, I'm not gull --

AWYLWYDYORM: Using my amazing powers of research, I've found out that the information in that forward is FALSE!

GC: Really?

AWYLWYDYORM: Yes! First, before 1963, Kenya was known as the colony of Kenya within the British East Africa protectorate -- a.k.a., "Kenya, East Africa"! Also, Kapi'olani Maternity Home changed its name to the Kapi'olani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in 1931!

GC: But how I do I know you're not making this up?

AWYLWYDYORM: It's amazing what you can learn when you do your own research! I did my research. You can do it, too!

FC: Darn you, It's-Amazing-What-You-Learn-When-You-Do-Your-Own-Research Man! Foiled again!

AWYLWYDYORM: Gotta go!

FM: **whimper**

GC: It's okay, Forward Man. We're on the same side. I hate doing research. Just tell me what I want to believe, and I'll believe it.

FM: **sniffle** Really?

GC: Really.

FM: Oh . . . Well let's see . . . I've got "George Soros --Secret Nazi," "Darwin was a Secret Muslim Extremist," and "We Never Landed On The Moon, It Was Faked."
